Biography

Landis Kannberg received his doctorate in mechanical engineering from OSU in 1976 and is currently the Technical Network Leader for Energy Technology at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Washington. Kannberg's recent contributions have focused on managing the risks associated with vulnerabilities of the nation's critical energy infrastructure. He served as an advisor to the federal inter-agency Infrastructure Protection Task Force and provided technical support to the U.S. Secretary of Energy's Advisory Board Task Force on Electrical System Reliability, the National Petroleum Council, and the North American Electric Reliability Council. As a recent chair of the ASME Energy Committee, he provided testimony to Congress on energy R & D budgets. In 2002, he was elected a Fellow of ASME International and was also the ASME Columbia Basin Section Engineer of the Year.
